Almost a year on from our first series of open conversations with West Midlands artists and creatives, we are keen to explore what we have managed to make progress within terms of better supporting our creative community, what is needed most now and where we need to go next. We will also be sharing a range of upcoming opportunities we are developing with the companies co-facilitating these conversations: New Earth Theatre and Tamasha.

We will enter the space with no assumptions, and facilitators will listen, engage in conversation, welcome challenge and answer questions openly and transparently. We see this as a space for learning and to plan for a better Birmingham for artists and creatives.

Upcoming online conversations:

Wednesday 23 March, 7-8.30pm | Online Conversation with and for East & South East Asian Creatives, Co-facilitated with New Earth Theatre

We recognise that identities are nuanced and intersectional and we understand that not everyone’s needs are the same. Artists are welcome to attend and engage in this process on their own terms.

We look forward to meeting everyone who can join the conversations, and to building a fairer and more equitable Birmingham – and Hippodrome – for artists and creatives together.
