About the show

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets for Mary Poppins will go on sale to Friends of Birmingham Hippodrome on Tuesday 17 September at 11am, to Groups on Wednesday 18 September at 11am and on general sale on Friday 20 September at 11am.

What is the age guidance for Mary Poppins?

This production is recommended for ages 7+. Please note no under 3s will be admitted into the auditorium, including babes in arms.

What is the running time of the show?

Mary Poppins is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes long, including an interval.

Are there any Assisted Performances?

We will be offering Captioned, Audio Described, BSL Interpreted performances.

If you have Access needs, you can book through our website if you have a Nimbus card, please make sure you sign up for Nimbus in advance to ensure a smoother process when booking tickets. You can register here.

Tickets go on sale to Friends and Patrons on Wed 17 Sept at 11am. Tickets go on general sale Fri 20 Sept at 11am.

Does the show contain any special effects I need to be aware of? 

Mary Poppins contains theatrical smoke and fog effects as well as strobe lighting during parts of the show.

Where is the best place to sit…?

Our main auditorium is made up of the Stalls (downstairs) and Circle (upstairs). Both offer a clear view of the stage, with the Stalls being close to the action with a gradual slope and the Circle offering more of a picture view of the stage with a steeper rake above those sitting in front of you. You can see the view from your seat on our website when you’re looking at tickets.

How many tickets do I need to qualify as a Group?

Groups tickets are for parties of 8 or more – call 0844 338 7000 to book from Wed 18 Sept for those who are not a Friend or Patron of the Hippodrome. Please note group tickets can only be booked over the phone.

Friends of Birmingham Hippodrome can book a group from Wed 18 Sep by calling the Group Sales team on 0844 338 7000.

Can I book my tickets in person at the Hippodrome?

Our Thorp St box office is open 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

When will I get my tickets?

If you book online, you will be allocated E-Tickets. You will receive an order confirmation first and then your tickets will arrive.

You should receive a confirmation within 5 minutes of booking. If you haven’t, please contact our Post Purchase Ticket Line on 0121 689 1070 (option 1) and a member of the team can check your account. You can also view all of your ticket bookings in the account section on our website
