A series of 2 hour masterclasses designed to give an introduction to Hip-Hop dance styles for intermediate and advanced dancers aged 12-20.
9 May – Part of B-SIDE Hip-Hop festival 2018 – Workshop taught by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company’s Associate Director.
3 Jun – Workshop taught by ZooNation dancer and choreographer Shaun Smith. This workshop will look at Breaking, including the key principles of the style, such as top rock, freezes and floorwork and how ZooNation incorporates these into their work.
24 Jun – Workshop taught by ZooNation dancer and choreographer Bradley Charles. Bradley will look at one of the original funk styles, Popping, including techniques of hitting, isolation, musicality and how the style has been used in ZooNation’s choreographic work.
22 Jul – Waacking workshop taught by ZooNation choreographer, Rhimes Lecointe. Rhimes is one of the UK’s prominent Waacking practitioners and will look at arm movements, poses, footwork and musicality in this session.
Age Guidance 12-20. Under 16’s must fill out a parental consent form on arrival.
These sessions are suitable for those who have an intermediate to advanced level of dance
