In late 2013, Photographer Paul Stringer sat in the crowded upstairs of a Birmingham coffee shop at his first open mic poetry night, Beatfreeks’ Poetry Jam.
That night sparked an ongoing interest and passion in poetry and the magic of the people that perform it. For Paul, being exposed to new perspectives through poetry was life changing.
The City That Spoke To Me introduces you to the poets that inspired Paul’s journey, alongside the poets that inspired theirs. Through photographic portraits, audio interviews, poems and physical artefacts, start your own journey into the world of poetry.
On display in Level 2 Gallery. You can visit the exhibition from 11am Mon – Sat using our Thorp Street entrance.
