Information

Starchitects, the new show from Motionhouse is a joyful cosmic adventure.

With its mix of gravity-defying choreography and digital projections, Starchitects is a visual spectacle using the dance-circus fusion that the company is renowned for.

As we join this magical adventure, Starchitects allows us to revisit the magic of our childhood imagination where anything is possible…when a cardboard box can be a train and a dressing up box is the start of countless thrilling adventures.

Full of fun and thrilling surprises, Starchitects has an easy-to-follow and humorous storyline, making it perfect for a fun and entertaining trip out with children, friends or the whole family.

Motionhouse is a Birmingham Hippodrome Associate Company.

Curtain Raiser – Fri 3 Feb 7.15pm
Before the main show, there’s a chance to see our second Curtain Raiser performance in partnership with Motionhouse. 16 talented young people from across the West Midlands have been recruited from schools in the Hippodrome Education Network and from our dance development programme. Rehearsing for 5 weeks with Motionhouse choreographer and director, Junior Cunningham, their brand new performance will be in Motionhouse’s unique and celebrated style of dance-circus and will complement the joyful adventure of Starchitects.

Post-Show Q&A – Fri 3 Feb 7.15pm
With the cast and Kevin Finnan (Founder and Artistic Director, Motionhouse). Free to Starchitects ticket holders.

Stay and Play – Sat 4 Feb 1pm
After the performance, join Motionhouse on Middle Circle Foyer (Level 3) and go on a FREE fun-packed adventure of your own together! You’ll have the chance to play a range of games as featured in the show, using your imagination to go on your own daring mission to space.

In association with Bluestone Park and National Resort. Supported by Warwick Arts Centre. Motionhouse is supported by Arts Council England with additional support from Warwick District Council and is a Birmingham Hippodrome Associate Company.

What is a relaxed performance?

A Relaxed Performance is an adjusted version of the show where sensory aspects such as bright lights and loud noises are reduced, delivered in an environment ‘where it is acceptable to move around, make noise, and behave in non-normative ways’. These performances are an important means for disabled people and people with sensory sensitivities, including but not exclusive to people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and people with other neurodivergent conditions, to experience the arts in an inclusive environment
