As part of Birmingham Comedy Festival, we welcomed an exhibition of Comedy Classics in our gallery spaces.
Steve Lilly’s collection of exquisite, finely delineated pencil portraits showcase the greats from the golden age of TV and film comedy: Dad’s Army, Tony Hancock, Laurel and Hardy, Ken Dodd, Carry On, and The Two Ronnies. Many of these acts also once graced the Hippodrome’s stage.
Steve Lilly is an award-winning artist based in Birmingham. His portraits are created with meticulous attention to detail and are built up over many hours, carefully blending layers of pencil. His works are in private collections across the globe. Find out more here.
