Backstage at Matilda The Musical
As Matilda herself says, ‘sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty’! Which is why we couldn’t resist taking a peek behind-the-scenes of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s multi award-winning Matilda The Musical to discover just what it takes to bring the magic of Roald Dahl’s marvellous creation to life on stage.
Accompanied by some of the UKs top theatre bloggers and vloggers, our journey led us through the wonderful world of Wardrobe Village – home to many a high-speed quick change during the show, as well as Prompt Corner (the beating heart of any production), the props table (home to an incredibly detailed selection of handmade items) and, of course, the Main stage itself, where our guests couldn’t resist grabbing a shot in signature ‘Matilda pose’!
