‘Trocks’ Make-Up Seminar – Mon 9 Nov 2015
Birmingham Hippodrome Patrons got under the skin of the world famous Ballets de Monte Carlo in a Make-Up Masterclass.
With exclusive backstage access, 12 Patrons were taken through the Make Up routine of ‘Trock’ Joshua Thake as he transformed into his female alter ego Eugenia Repelskii.
The make-up routine was a performance in itself, with Josh offering humorous insights into his makeup routine, tales from the tour and insight into his inspirations and idols.
Photos and autographs followed in this rare insight into a pre-performance make up routine.
Heritage Afternoon Tea - Sat 12 Sep 2015
80 Patrons and Friends members joined us on the main stage this September to celebrate the launch of Hippodrome Heritage.
Patrons enjoyed a sumptuous afternoon tea whilst enjoying the talents of Birmingham Symphonic Winds, in an event hosted by BBC’s Joanne Malin.
Guests were also treated to a very special Q&A with star guests from the Hippodrome’s past and present, including former theatre director Peter Tod and Pantomime Dame Andrew Ryan.
A fundraising raffle ensured this event raised over £1,000 in support of Hippodrome Heritage.
Vincent and Flavia Dance Workshop - Fri 4 Sep 2015
Patrons joined Strictly Favourites Vincent and Flavia for a very special dance workshop in September.
Patrons mastered basic tango steps and had the chance for 1-2-1 feedback from the award winning professional dancers.
A group photo rounded off this very special experience in advance of Vincent and Flavia’s touring show ‘The Last Tango.’
Circus Skills Workshop - Tue 21 Jul 2015
Friends and Patrons of the theatre enjoyed all the fun of the fair at a recent Circus Skills Workshop inspired by the exhilarating musical, Barnum.
Instructors from Birmingham-based specialists CircusMash put members of all ages through their paces as they learnt skills such as globe walking, juggling, plate-spinning and hula-hooping. See images from the event.
After wearing ourselves out under the imagined big top, stars of Barnum, Brian Conley and Linzi Hateley came to meet the group and show off some circus skills of their own, whilst chatting to Friends and Patrons over a well-earned cup of tea and slice of cake.
“Thank you for a lovely afternoon. We have all had a fab day!”
Circus Skills Participant and Birmingham Hippodrome Patron, Lola Ralph.
