I am a theatre artist, creative producer/collaborator and an academic who emigrated to UK as a young person, and has spent 25 years being “in-between”: living, working, relating to different geographical and made-up spaces.
I create experiences: perform, direct, produce, collaborate, support, but also investigate a goulash (a medley) of genres and practices, fervently rejecting being boxed into a particular category! Disruption, grief and the dynamic between the personal and political, combined with the feral and the fantasy grip me to exploring them verbally and non-verbally – which is why I often dip into multilingualism, movement and object manipulation in my work.
I am creative co-director of Notnow Collective, Resident Creative at Curve Theatre and Live & Local (rural touring platform, Worcestershire) and a co-founder of the UK’s a national movement Migrants in Theatre. In addition to this I am investigating the representation of artists from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Euorpe in England’s arts ecology, funded by AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council, UK).
