Following the latest Government update, Birmingham Hippodrome have confirmed today (Wednesday 23 February) updated Covid safety measures for audiences.

Until Tuesday 1 March, all audience members over the age of 18 will still be required to show either their NHS Covid Pass on arrival or proof of a negative lateral flow test. Audiences are also asked to continue to wear face coverings (unless medically exempt), except for when eating and drinking in their seat.

From Wednesday 2 March, audiences will not be required to show their NHS Covid Pass. We still recommend audiences wear face coverings and encourage audiences to take a Lateral Flow Test on the day of their visit.

Other Covid safety measures still in place include:

  • E-Tickets: All tickets will continue to be emailed, with a QR code to be scanned on arrival at the venue
  • Contactless payments: Birmingham Hippodrome is a cashless venue, meaning all payments at all sales positions will be contactless
  • Cleaning and ventilation: The theatre is mechanically ventilated, supplying and extracting filtered air. Hand sanitiser stations are available throughout the venue and Birmingham Hippodrome will continue to undertake enhanced cleaning and sanitising of all spaces.
  • Bag checks: Please only bring small bags that can fit under your seat as our cloakroom is currently unavailable. Please have your bag ready to be checked on arrival
Latecomers: To facilitate the safe seating of customers, latecomers may have a significant delay in being seated

Birmingham Hippodrome holds the See it Safely mark, developed by Society of London Theatres & UK Theatre, which gives audiences confidence that a theatre is operating in accordance with the latest Government guidelines.
